Inclusivity Statement
The Department of Geography and Environment is firmly committed to working towards equity, diversity, inclusivity, and decolonization in our campus community, including members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We strive to create an environment that is free from all forms of discrimination, including but not limited to homo/transphobia, racism (anti-Black, anti-Indigenous, anti-Asian, and anti-Latinx), colourism, islamophobia, antisemitism, xenophobia, sexism, ablism, ageism, classism, fatphobia, and religious and linguistic discrimination. We believe all forms of discrimination are unacceptable, regardless of intent, and we will make a concerted effort to minimize all forms of violence, harassment, bullying, and victimization. For example, we are committed to using community members’ preferred names and gender pronouns. Lastly, we recognize that creating an inclusive environment is an ongoing process and we welcome suggestions about how we can make Geography and Environment a more welcoming and supportive place.
