Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Decolonization (EDID)

The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization (EDID) Committee was created to foster an equitable and inclusive environment that values and respects diverse perspectives. We will strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels safe and that they belong.

Objectives

  • Assess and provide ideas to enhance policies, practices, and initiatives related to equity, inclusion, diversity, and decolonization.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of these principles among our faculty, staff and students.
  • Address and eliminate barriers that hinder the full participation and representation of diverse voices within our department.
  • Support strategies and initiatives that contribute to the decolonization of our courses and practises.
  • Seek external experts or individuals with relevant experience in equity, inclusion, diversity, and decolonization to speak to the committee or the department.
